The excellent biographical documentary of Lloyd Alexander, directed by Jared Crossley.

A friend and I watched this (again) the evening after the film news was announced. It is so well-done. Hearing about Lloyd’s life, the hardships he endured, the idiosyncrasies of his personality, and the respect and affection with which all who knew him speak, all serve to make me appreciate the Chronicles even more.
If anybody tells you I cried while I watched it I will denounce them as the liar they—ALL RIGHT I CRIED.
Watching The Black Cauldron feels rather like watching someone rip pages out of the books and grind them haphazardly into a paper shredder. I do hope very much that Disney can, this time around, recognize the import of the legacy they are holding. Lloyd deserves nothing less than a film with the same sensitivity, depth, humor and compassion with which he seems to have lived his life.
<3 Rest well, Mr. Alexander. No matter what the outcome, Prydain's true Companions will be faithful.
